SP 1st gas sweetening plant progress 42%
Construction operation of the gas condensates Demercaptanization (DMC) plantin refineries of the phases 2 and 3 of the South Pars Gas Field has witnessed a 42 percent progress by December 22, 2017, said the project manager.
Referring to the operation procedure began in the summer this year, SirousPeykarsaid designing, procurement, installation and implementation of the project have progressed concurrently and it is expected the project to come online by next December.
The project also includes other operations such as civil and structure of four storage tanks for chemicals and construction of a power station. “About 60 percent of the plates required for construction of the storage tanks have been already provided and the project contractor is preparing the plans. Meanwhile, construction of the power station will begin when the civil and structure’s plans are available,” he noted.
Purchase of rotating equipment including pumps and compressors will shortly be finalized, he said, “A high purity oxygen generator is also needed.”
In addition, it is scheduled that the construction of steel structures to start by mid-January, he noted.
gas sweetening process is a considerable value-addingfactor in South Pars gas field, he stated, “implementation of this project will not only improve products’ quality, but also reduce corrosion of the plants and environmental pollutants.”
The gas condensates demercaptanization in refineries of phases 2 and 3 of the South Pars gas field aims to remove sour sulfur and the pollutants in gas condensates produced in phases. National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has assigned the project to the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarterand it is done under supervision of Pars Oil and Gas Company.
