SP14: 3rd platform starts producing
ASSALUYEH – gas production from the third platform of phase 14 started when pipeline connecting phase 14 to 12 was completed.

The 3rd platform of phase 14 called 14B, which had been already installed on its jacket, started producing from South Pars gas field today. Director of phase 14, Mohammad Mehdi Tavasolipour, was quoted by public relations as saying.

Referring to the commitment made by POGC to increase daily production capacity up to 680 million cubic meters by late March 2020, Tavasolipour said platform 14B weighing 2400 tons was carried to location by carrier vessel Tondgoyanand then installed by installer vessel called HL5000 on last July. Today it started producing to add 14.2 million cubic meters of sour to total gas production from jointfield.

Since the treating trains of phase 14 are not ready yet, a 5-km pipelinehas been laid toconnect phase 14 to 12. Such pipeline temporarily carries the gas produced from platform 14B after receiving in phase 14 to treat and make use of processing capacity available in phase 12 as well.

Phase 14's director continued the country needs winter fuel because of the cold season. So, platform 14B was operationalized to coverincreasing demand for household, commercial, industrial uses.

Offshore part of phase 14 consists of 4 platforms (two main and two satellite platforms). Each produces 14.2 million cubic meters a day from south pars gas field. Platform 14B is the second main and third platform of phase 14 that has been put into operation so far.
