Bilal gas field contract signed

TEHRAN – Bilal gas field development contract was signed between POGC and Petropars.

A contract to develop Bilal gas field was signed between POGC as the employer and local firm called Petropars as the contractor on Saturday (September 14) with the presence of petroleum minister, Bijan Zanganeh, and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)’s CEO, Masoud Karbasian, public relations department of POGC reported.

According to the contract, Petropars is committed to drilling eight productive wells, build and install a four-legged wellhead jacket and its deck which will be capable to generate 500 million cubic feet of rich gas a day. The project will also include the construction of approximately 20km of pipeline and installation of fiber-optic cable as well.

The contractor will also be responsible for managing and integrating the contract, carrying out reservoir studies, conducting future tenders to determine subcontractors to manufacture necessary equipment.

The maximum capital expenditure associated with the project has been estimated to be $440 million which is financed by the National Development Fund (NDF) of Iran.

Having been exploited, this gas field will generate 500 million cubic feet of sour gas along with 15000 barrels of gas condensate a day. The produced gas will be carried, first, to South Pars platform 12C and then to onshore refinery of phase 12.
