TEHRAN (POGC) -- The head of research and technology and the think tank of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) said his company has recently concluded 8 research contracts worth nearly 80 billion rials.
Outlining POGC’s activities in the field of research, technology and innovation, Abbas Ali Porteghali stated: “The research and technology unit of Pars Oil and Gas Company operates to materialize the research and technology goals of the Ministry of Petroleum and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).”
He said research needs of POGC were called for several times in the past and as a result of them, they were collected and after reviewing them in specialized working groups and evaluating them, issues appropriate to the needs and financial resources of research affairs were prioritized. “After completing the process of selecting titles, the company's research and technology portfolio for 2020 and 2021 were compiled in the form of 11 projects, of which contracts for 8 projects with a total amount of Rls. 79 billion have been conclude and implemented.”
Porteghali noted that the most important areas of the research and technology portfolio of Pars Oil and Gas Company are in the fields of corrosion and pipelines, and added: “The lion’s share of the research portfolio of the company concerns corrosion.”
The head of research and technology and think tank of Pars Oil and Gas Company stated that in these research projects, the company has benefited from the capabilities and capacities of Iranian knowledge-based companies as well as the prestigious universities of the country.
“The number of research facilitators in the contract is 7 academic research centers or knowledge-based companies, of which 3 knowledge-based companies cooperate in the company's research projects. These companies are of special importance in the research portfolio of the company due to their activities in the form of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the field of entrepreneurship and completing the university-industry cycle.”
