Kish Gas Field Development Project
Kish gas field, located under Kish Island and its surrounding waters in the Persian Gulf comprises Kangan and Dalan gas reservoirs at depths of 3200-5000 meters. The field is recognized as the seventeenth large gas field of the world with a reserve of 40 trillion cubic feet. Fluid composition consists of 200 ppm H2S and 3.2% CO2. By completion of all the development phases of the field, it is expected to produce gas at a capacity equal to three South Pars phases. The project is divided into three sections:
 
1.Gas transfer to Kish power plant
1-1 Offshore and onshore facilities:
Natural gas transfer from the seventh gas trunkline in Bastak region of Hormozgan District to Aftab port and from Aftab port to Kish Island by offshore and onshore pipelines

1-2 Objectives:
To replace gasoil fuel with natural gas in Kish Island power plants
Cost saving by the abovementioned substitution
To guarantee power generation stability on the Island
To prevent environmental pollution
 
2.Phase 1 of Kish gas field development
2-1 Offshore and onshore facilities:
Completion of the existing facilities in Kish Island (drilling 14 wells, wellhead flow lines and accessories)
Construction of 220 kilometers offshore pipelines from Kish Island to Asalouyeh
Construction of auxiliary facilities in existing South Pars refineries for integration between refineries

2-2 Objectives:
Production and transfer of 1 billion cubic feet gas per day from Kish fields’ clusters 1 and 2 to Asalouyeh in order to utilize the maximum capacity of existing South Pars refineries
Production of 11300 barrels of gas condensates per day
 
3.Phases 2 and 3 of Kish gas field development
3-1 Offshore and onshore facilities:
Four offshore platforms around Kish Island (2 main platforms and 2 satellite platforms)
Construction of 440 kilometers offshore pipelines (from platforms to Asalouyeh)
Drilling of 24 offshore wells (6 wells in each platform)
Construction of auxiliary facilities in existing South Pars refineries including joints, slug catcher … for integration between refineries

3-2 Objectives:
Production and transfer of 2 billion cubic feet gas per day from four platforms in Kish field to Asalouyeh in order to utilize the maximum capacity of existing South Pars refineries
Production of 20000 barrels of gas condensates per day
