Asaluyeh (POGC) -- Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) has successfully finished overhaul of 36 South Pars gas platforms since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.
Mehdi Tayebi, an official in the repairs department of POGC, said operation of a number of new platforms in South Pars Development Project has been entrusted to company’s Production and Operations Department, adding the department had on its agenda overhauls of 36 South Pars platforms for the first time this [calendar] year, which were successfully carried out in 136 days.
He said that the overhaul operations of this year began on April 17 and continued until October 28. More than 100,000 man/hours were spent in the overhauls.
The Deputy Head Repairs of the POGC Department for Production and Operations further underlined the drop in the average number of days spent to overhaul each platform in the current year, saying last year, an average of 9 days was spent for overhaul of each platform while the figure fell by 0.7 days to 8.3 days in the current year.
Regarding the importance of reducing downtime in platforms, Tayebi said: "By reducing the average number of days of overhauls by 0.7 days, the output of each platform will be boosted by roughly 16.5 mcm of gas and 11,000 barrels of gas condensate.”
